I’m Michelle Buchholz, I’m 23 years old and I am currently studying Integrated Design BA at the University of the Arts Bremen. Even though the study program offers a wide range of different design departments, illustration is the one that took my heart.
No matter what my next project is, I always start out analog before I put my work into the digital sphere. Working with analog tools gives my illustrations the character and soul that they live off of. In my work I try to capture emotions and situations of the human condition to make people understand and relate. In the best case they go “oh, that is me as well” when looking at a silly drawing of a silly cat.

Expect a variety of hand-picked lush colours that carry lovable characters full of expression topped off with a homemade sense of humour. Locally sourced compositions and organic elements are a staple.
